Lately I was chatting with a Minecraft friend that owns a server… and he asked me, how I get more players to my server… I gave him some tips… and you are getting that with extras added!

Bump on PlanetMinecraft don’t underplay bumping, because I know that this has brought me players over the years… but many times people tell me, but they just joined and left! Or that they just aren’t good players coming from there… but each player I can get with a cost of nothing, I will take… often times players keep servers on their lists and join them later, and stay for longer…

Have a good server.(Duh) but this is one of those… of course I have a good server! Do you have a unique server? Because if there are 1000 servers just like yours, why should anyone stop and play yours… you have to have something to keep them, either a really good owner, a special gamemode, plugin or youtuber, You can have HUGE advertisements and still not getting many good players, just because they find it boring, or see nothing new/fresh, or exciting.

Advertisements, You can pay for them on websites, and more, You can either pay, or try to work out a trade with someone else, to give your server a banner ad… another route could be, find a youtuber that does Minecraft videos and pay/ask him/her to do a video for you on your server… keep in mind, that if your server is factions, and that youtuber plays Minigames, you will get less players from it, also most youtuber will want something in return, either a rank, or money, or both.

Voting websites, Give prizes for voting, I know it sounds old school, but it helps… try and research the best voting list… and dominate it. Don’t give to much for voting, but give enough that they can’t wait to vote the next day… also giving out a rank to the top voter is a option, and can give that urge to vote!

Make Videos, we did talk about getting a other youtuber, but why not make a video yourself? Make a good video, then put good keywords into title and description! (Quick tip: Put your title as the first line in your description!) there are ways to promote your video, but I recommend sharing on your facebook, and twitter!

Get Players to tell friends. Word of mouth, the most powerful way to get players, is to get players get players… players on my servers, the loyal ones normally got invited by a friend, and the trust of the friend is transferred to the server, thus creating a loyal player… (If you can get 2 people from 1 school playing, most of the school that plays Minecraft will hear them talking about it, and most likely join to!)
